Experience:
Carl Izzo is the managing director of Fiduciary Real Estate Advisors LLC and a member of the Family Advisory Services Team at Burns & Levinson LLP. Mr. Izzo has over thirty years of experience specializing in real estate. He provides professional technical advice and real estate services to individuals and fiduciaries who hold title to or manage real estate. Mr. Izzo also accepts court appointments to serve as a receiver or commissioner. He has counseled clients and conducted numerous seminars and training programs regarding fiduciary responsibility for hazardous waste and other environmental issues. He has managed a variety of properties, successfully negotiated settlement of complex trust and estate issues, and served as the corporate fiduciary's representative in court proceedings and at arbitration and mediation sessions. Formerly director of the Private Bank Trust Real Estate Department at BankBoston, Mr. Izzo was responsible for all real estate for which BankBoston served as a corporate fiduciary, supervising regional offices and the bank's management of property throughout the United States.
Mr. Izzo holds a B.S. degree in Management from Northeastern University. He is a licensed Massachusetts real estate broker and currently holds active membership in the Greater Boston Board of Realtors, the Greater Boston Rental Housing Association, the National Association of Royalty Owners, the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association, and the Environmental Bankers Association. He is Past President of the National Trust Real Estate Association and currently holds membership on the Executive Committee. He has also served as advisor to the Greater Boston Lead Action Collaborative Steering Committee. Mr. Izzo most recently received a Seniors Real Estate Specialists (SRES) designation. A SRES is a Realtor who is qualified to meet the special needs and concerns of maturing adults.
Mr. Izzo has been awarded the prestigious designation as Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) by The Counselors of Real Estate, an international organization of real estate experts who advise clients in complex real estate and land-related matters. The CRE designation is awarded in recognition of superior problem solving ability in various areas of specialization such as litigation support, asset management, valuation, feasibility studies, acquisitions/dispositions, and general analysis. Mr. Izzo was elected president in 2003 of the New England/Upstate New York Chapter of Counselors of Real Estate.

Speaking Engagements
Carl Izzo was a presenter to over 60 clients of SSGA Charitable Asset Management at their Annual Planned Giving Conference on April 25, 2005. Carl's presentation was entitled, "The Donor is Gifting Her Home; What Should I Do?" The seminar was held at The Boston Harbor Hotel.
